Ms. Mastropaolo's Home Page
My name is Maria Mastropaolo, and 2024-25 marks my twelfth year teaching at Bolsa Grande. I have taught Physical Science, Chemistry and AP Chemistry during this time.
I graduated from UC Irvine with a B.S. in Chemistry and a Business Management minor. I then spent several years in the Environmental Laboratory business, culminating in managing the opening a new laboratory in northern California. Subsequently, I moved into software development. I managed software development projects in industries ranging from fast food to clinical research trials. It took a long time to find teaching as a calling, but eventually I made my way into the classroom. I obtained my teaching credential in Chemistry and Biology from Chapman University, and have loved what I do ever since.
At Bolsa Grande, I serve as Science Department Chairperson and the team lead to our school's 9th grade CORE Breakthrough Success Community https://coredistricts.org/
Besides being a teacher, I am a mom to three wonderful sons. Zachary is 28 and works in security for the TSA. Luke is 18 and starting at the University of Michigan this fall, majoring in saxophone performance and Chemistry. Matthew is in 11th grade at Edison High School Together, we like to take our dog out for walks, hike, cook and go to the beach.
